Abstract
The vibration of rigid bodies with finite rectangular bases of semi-infinite elastic media presents difficult analytical problems which have hitherto not been resolves. The mixed boundary-value problem is completely formulated for the first time, in terms of a pair of ''Dual Double Integrated Equations'', both for the static case which has a formidable theoretical solution and for the dynamic case where more complication is added to an already complex problem.
