Abstract
A review of the literature onwomen or gender in general indicates that there is now a demand for a re-orientation 'of research and changes in the methodological procedures used for the compilation and computation of national statistics so as to reflect accurately the role of world alone, but it is worldwide. The emphasis is now on the productivity and efficiency of the labour input of women.
