Therefore, this paper reviewed the importance of early treatment initiation among people living with HIV/AIDS towards the prevention of onward transmission of the disease. The primary goal of Antiretroviral Therapy is to prevent HIV-associated morbidity and mortality. Deferring Antiretroviral Therapy until CD4 counts decline puts individuals with HIV at risk of both AIDS-defining and certain serious non-AIDS conditions. Therefore, early diagnosis of HIV should commence with immediate treatment. The paper therefore recommended that Government should ensure that voluntary HIV testing and counselling is put in place
