It impairs and destroys cells of the immune system and progressively weakens the body's ability to fight infections and certain cancers. HIV is most commonly spread by sexual contact with an infected partner. Another important means of spreading HIV is contact with infected blood from contaminated needles or syringes. There is no universally accepted cure for HIV/AIDS, but medications can help to slow the progression of the disease. Some drugs have reduced AIDS deaths in many developed nations. HIV/AIDS in Africa-American Groups requires a life span examination of children, teenagers, college students, and adults because it is not limited to just an age group.
