dc.description.abstractMany teachers believe that qualifications in technical subjects will be unimportant for girls in their future lives. This study is a descriptive-survey of the secondary school teachers' perception of the appropriateness of technical education for girls. One hundred and eighty teachers out of which 60 were science Teachers formed the sample of this study. An eleven-item Questionnaire was used to survey the opinion of these Teachers. The results of the analyses of data showed that significantly higher number of Teachers perceive that boys would benefit more from Technical Education than girls. Science Teachers, however, recorded higher perception of girls benefiting from Technical Education. Implications for Career Guidance and Counselling were discussed.en_US
