Abstract
Adolescence is a period of transition from childhood to adulthood stage characterize with biological, psychological and social changes and development involving the formulation of anti-social behaviour including unplanned and unprotective sexual intercourse which may lead to sexually transmitted infections, HIV/AIDS and pregnancy. The study therefore focused on empowering adolescent sexual knowledge and behaviour through school based sexuality education programme in Epe and its environ. Two hundred senior secondary II male and female students selected from four senior secondary schools fanned the subject for the study. The data were collected through the use of questionnaire and the analysis was done with chi-square. (x2) to test the three hypotheses formulated. Result of the study revealed that school based sexuality education programme is significant in empowering adolescent's sexual knowledge and behaviour. Based on the findings, the appropriate recommendations were, made on the need for empowering and promoting adolescence sexual knowledge and behaviour through school-based sexuality education.
