dc.description.abstractThis study was carried out to evaluate the effectiveness or otherwise of Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy in reducing the level of general and examination anxieties with a view to fostering better academic performance in English Language among students in Senior Secondary School class Two formed the subject of the study. They were randomly distributed into groups (experimental and control groups) after they had responded to three research instruments developed to obtain their pretest scores for the establishment of the baseline. Forty-eight students were in the experimental group were exposed to Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy while those in the control group were not. Independent t-test statistically analysis was employed in data analysis and the result showed a statistically significant indifference in favour of the experimental group. The Counselling implications were highlighted.en_US
