dc.description.abstractIn this paper, the basis for the choice of career among Senior Secondary School students was carefully considered. 110 Senior Secondary School students (SSS 1 - 3) were randomly selected from 10 secondary schools sampled. Their mean age was l7 years. The result of the study indicated that parental influence, peer group, monetary reward and personal interest were prominent among the students perceived determinants of their vocational choice. The result also showed that peer group pressure was the number one factor that determines the choice of vocation It was suggested that career Guidance and counselling should be made available not only to the students but also to their parents to forestall conflictsen_US
