The recent economic global meltdown and the current crisis in the banking sector have cast doubts on the ability of corporate executives to manage their organizations for the good of the stakeholders. The study was conducted to determine the role played by good corporate governance in corporate business prosperity in Nigeria. A review of literature revealed that corporate governance is essentially concerned with whose benefit businesses should be run. Structured questionnaires were used to collect responses from respondents who were investment expert members of the Nigerian Stock Exchange in Lagos. It was hypothesized and found that there is a relationship between good corporate governance and corporate business prosperity and market value. The researcher recommended a vigorous enforcement of the corporate governance code by the Security and Exchange Commission, active board of directors and the encouragement of shareholders activism to promote corporate governance among Nigerian corporate organizations.en_US
