dc.description.abstract | The participation of women in Science and Technology education all over the world is generally lower than that of men. The United Nations Educational. Scientificand Cultural Organization (UNESCO), realizing that there is inequality between the education of men and women, drew up action plans- The world plan of Action for the United nations Decade for women (1976-1985), with the three themes “Equity, development, AND Peace”. This was with a view to contributing to the guaranteeing of equal right, equal educational and job opportunities for girls and women at all levels. This campaign has led to a situation where some women now work in economic fields hitherto ‘reserved’ for men. But how many of such women are there? When we have a woman pilot, for example, it is news whereas men fly planes daily. | en_US |
