This paper examines the existing library buildings of the University of Lagos and Yaba College of Technology, Lagos in terms of capacities, deficiencies and functionality. It was found that though the two libraries were planned and built to meet the then existing needs of the two institutions, current explosion in student population has rendered the buildings grossly inadequate. Recommendations on improvement in terms of reading spaces, stacks and climatic control are proffered.en_US
