Abstract
This study is on the influence of social orientation on predisposition to drug trafficking among youths in Ikeja Local Government of Lagos State. The sample comprised 80 randomly selected youths (40 non addicts, 20 drug addicts and 20 drug traffickers) from Ikeja Local Government . A researcher constructed questionnaire was used to test the two hypotheses formulated for the study. A two-way Analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Fisher's Protected t-test techniques were used to analyses the data \. The findings show that there is a significant influence of attitude to drug usage
on youths predisposition to drug trafficking and that there is a significant influence of social orientation and attitude to drug usage on predisposition to drug abuse. It was concluded that drug trafficking and abuse are influenced by social orientation and attitude to drug usage. It was recommended that if democracy is to be upheld, drug trafficking should be reduced to a manageable level.
