This paper discusses the factors affecting the quality of engineering education at the tertiary level and suggest ways by which the decline in quality may be stemmed. It is proposed that Further Mathematics and Technical Drawing be added to the registration requirements for engineering programmes and that a one-year industrial training scheme be introduced after the fourth year of the degree programme.en_US
