This study sought to identify the various sources of information available to Micro and Small Scale Entrepreneurs (MSEs) in Nigeria; establish their accessibility rate to information; determine the influence of information on the innovation and development of MSEs; and identify challenges facing them in getting relevant information. The study is a qualitative research that focussed on semi structured interview as the method of data gathering. Targeted audience included MSEs from six sub - sectors which are: the production sector, sales and services sector, agro allied sector, chemical and allied sector, professional sector and the artisan sector. 18 articipants (3from each sector) constituted the study population. Data were gathered over a period of 2 weeks through recorded interview sessions which were transcribed into English Language, and content analyses was carried out on major related themes using narrative analysis technique. NVIVO software version 10.0 was used for graphical illustration. The study revealed that MSEs derived information mainly from people close to them. Also, not all of them have access to required information but for those that have access, information has impacted their level of creativity and skills acquisition. A lot of awareness on new techniques and better ways of business operations leading to improved standard and business expansion has been witnessed.
