dc.description.abstractThis study investigated collection management practices in six selected university libraries in Southwest, Nigeria, i.e. three federal and three state universities. Three self-developed, pre-tested, and validated questionnaires in addition to the researcher's personal observations were used to obtain the necessary data for the study It was discovered that the studied libraries were grossly underfunded and this has to a very large extent affected their library services especially in the areas of lilbrary socks and lCT. The researcher therefore recommends that university libraries be adequately funded to cater for both the human and material resources needed for effective library operations. To complement this inter library co-operation among university libraries should be encouraged.en_US
