The study investigated risky sex behaviour and knowledge of transmission of Human Immune Deficiency Virus (HIV) among sport competitors during West African University Games, held in Lagos. Purposive sampling method was adopted to select three hundred sports men and women participants. A self- structured, validated questionnaire tagged (SHATS) with coefficient reliability of 0.82 was used for the data collection. The responses were analysed with descriptive statistics of frequency counting and percentages. Chi-square (X2) was used to test the hypotheses at 0.05 alpha level. The study variable were knowledge of HIV/AIDS and Risky sex behaviour. The hypothesis was rejected as it was statically established that the participants did not have adequate knowledge of the infection and also exhibited high level risky sexual behaviour. On this note, it was recommended that effort be made to provide health education as intervention to increase the level of awareness of sport men and women on the mode and the risk of contracting this deadly disease. Although abstinence should be preached, availability of condom at the medical centre for free collection would go a long way to reduce risky sexual behaviour among sports men and womenen_US
