This study examined teachers’ quality and graduation rate of students in Command schools in Nigeria. Nine research questions and six hypotheses guided the study. A descriptive survey research design was used for the study, while a stratified random sampling technique was used to select both the schools and the participants in the research. The participants consisted of 820 teachers and 10 Commandants randomly sampled from 10 Command schools in Nigeria. The research instruments titled “Teachers’ Appraisal Form” (TAF) and “Secondary Education Efficiency Analysis Questionnaire” (SEEAQ) were developed for data collection. The data collected were analysed using the Pearson Product Moment Correlation, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Multiple Regression Analysis. The findings revealed that (i) students spent far more years in completing the senior secondary school cycle than the expected student years (ii) Command schools were not significantly different from one another in terms of graduation rate, and (iii) teachers’ qualifications, teaching experience and workload were the most viable predictors of students’ graduation rate in Command schools students. Based on these findings, it is recommended that efforts should be geared towards enhancing graduation rate of Command schools through recruitment and retention of professional teachers, equitable distribution of workload, and provision of adequate professional support for teachers.en_US
