This study investigated the impact of drug abuse on social behaviour of adolescents in Lagos metropolis The participants comprised 200 senior secondary school II students drawn from four secondary schools in Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government Area of Lagos State, by Stratified Random Sampling Procedure. A self-designed instrument titled “Impact of Drug Abuse on Social Behaviour of Adolescents Questionnaire” (IDASBQ) was used to collect the relevant data for the study. The instrument was validated and has a reliability coefficient of 0.85 (r=0.85) when tested in a pilot study. Two hypotheses were formulated to guide the study and were analyzed using chi- square statistical tool at 0.05 level of significance. Findings revealed that drug abuse has a significant impact on illegal activities of adolescents. Also found significant was impact of drug abuse on depressive mood among adolescents. The study thus recommended among others that, the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) must intensify their anti-drug campaign to ensure a drug free society with a special focus on students. Also, teachers at all levels should be provided with skills on how to handle students with behavioural problems. Implications of the findings for good governance were also provided.en_US
