Abstract
The study conducted to determine the efficient and cost-effective ways to conduct professional development of technical teachers in Lagos state. Three research questions were developed in line with the purpose of the study. One null hypothesis was formulated and tested at the probability level of 0.05 level of significance. Twenty item questionnaires were developed to guide the study. The population for the study was 80 comprising all the principals and vice principals of the six technical colleges in Lagos State and heads of departments. The data collected were analysed u sing mean to answer the research questions and the hypothesis was tested using t-test. The findings of the study include high cost of training facilities, training adequate number of student teachers and maintenance of workshop equipment. Involving private sectors and increasing public support and awareness can reduce the burden of high cost of technical teachers' professional development on both the school management and students. Some recommendations were made in line with the findings of the study.
