Abstract
The problems facing Nigeria ranging from high rate of poverty, youth and graduates' unemployment, over dependence on foreign goods and technology, low economic growth and development. This study was based on the assumptions that entrepreneurship education is the key towards student's acquisition of skills necessary for self-reliance. Descriptive survey design was used and the population for the study was all the business education students at the University of Lagos 2015/2016 session totaling two hundred and forty (240,) in number. Simple random sampling technique was used to select students from 100-400 level. Three research questions and hypothesis were tested, and data collected were analyzed using inferential statistics of T-test at 0.05 level of significance. The result revealed that entrepreneur education has positive impact on economic development, improve students' employability skills and also capable of making students becoming self-reliance. The paper concluded that educational programme at all levels of education should be made relevant to provide the youth with needed entrepreneurial skills, again government should provide enabling environment so as to enhance entrepreneurial development and skill acquisition in all the training institutions.
