Abstract
The beginning ofa war might be visible to observers but not the end and aftermath. This has been the case oforchestrated insecurity by Islamic Seth, Boko Haram in the North-East of Nigeria. The incumbent government has evolved different strategies to degrade this group and the result is peace coming back to the areas. The end in view however comes with the challenges ofdisplacedpersons all over the areas that have hitherto been seeking refuge in otherparts ofthe country. This group has avalanche ofcomplain which include neglect and malnutrition among others. Failure to accord the deserved attention to the health and wellbeing ofthe IDPsportends grave implications. Sport is indisputably one ofthephenomenon that plays a major role in communicating positive awareness messages on key issues and assist in driving social change. This paper in turn reviews roles ofsport in combating the challenges ofIDPS in Nigeria.
