dc.description.abstract | Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma are quality techniques used by organizations to meet production targets, enforce standards, reduce waste, and ensure continuous flow of products. While the Lean approach focuses on waste elimination, Six Sigma emphasizes reduction of process variation. This work is an overview of these tools. It gives the history and methodology of Lean and Six Sigma. It also highlights several applications of both methodologies in diverse fields of endeavors. | en_US |
