Rift and Reconciliation: Repercussions of the Ekitiparapo War in the Ijebu Kingdom, 1882-1892
The paper shows that cleavages over economic and foreign policies determined the character of Ijebu participation in the Ekitiparapo War, 1878–1886. The differences brought the state to the brink of civil war, and it was not until early 1892 that an amicable settlement was achieved.
