dc.description.abstractAdolescence is a period of tremendous opportunity as well as of risk, characterized by physical, psychological and social changes. Adolescents are not yet adults, neither are they completely out of childhood. Adolescents have limited knowledge about sexual and reproductive health, and know little about the natural processes of puberty, sexual health, pregnancy and reproduction. The lack of knowledge about their reproductive health and the emerging threat of HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections have negative consequences on them and the country as a whole. The study therefore focused on the sexual knowledge and belief as influencing factors of engagement in sexual relationship among Senior Secondary Two adolescents. Eight, hundred Senior Secondary Two adolescents were randomly selected from eight secondary schools in Epe town and environs. Data were collected with questionnaire and were analysed with chi-square (x2) to test the hypothesis at 0.05 level of significant at df 12 and 23. Results of the study revealed that sexual knowledge and sexual belief of Senior Secondary Two adolescents influence their engagement in sexual relationship.en_US
