Abstract
This article focuses on t~e critical roles on information communication technologies net»,
1. couple with its potentials and emerging challenges and fundamental development of individuals, institutions and government in developing and developed countries: The paper examines various developmental projects that had been carried out in most essentials area that affect-the life of people; from rural communities to urban cities, and across the borderlines of most countries. Thus, it brought about the potentials and essentials of lCTs to people, and subsequently some of the challenges. The paper adopted desk study method of research; by using extensive literature review 'to expose the 'extent in which lCTs· has contributed to knowledge, information development and mankind. Gender related issues were not left out since women also made impact in the use of lCTs and the way it has contributed to their career .development by belonging to various networking groups. Some of the the difficulties. brought about lCTs were mentioned and solutions proffered.
