Abstract
This research study examined the impact of social skills on non-formal education graduates in Lagos state. Five research questions and five research hypotheses were raised and tested in the study at 0.05 level of significance. The descriptive research design was adopted for this study. The target population was graduates of non-formal education institutions in Lagos State. A total of 150 respondents were drawn using the purposive sampling technique from five local government areas in Lagos state. The instrument used was developed by the researchers. The questionnaire was tagged Impact of Social Skills and Graduate Employability Questionnaire (ISSGE). The data obtained were analyzed using regression analysis. The findings show that there was a significant influence of communication skills, social interaction, interpersonal relationships, teamwork, and emotional intelligence on graduate employability. To this end, the study recommended that prerequisite social skills like communication skills, emotional intelligence, social interaction, and interpersonal relationship should be encouraged in the non-formal educational institution as its major goal is producing useful citizens to provide the manpower needs of the federation.
