dc.description.abstractThe study examined pre-retirement counseling and retirement stress perceptions of selected secondary school teachers in Lagos. The sample was made up of 150 secondary school teachers, 75 males and 75 females selected from Education District IV made up of Apapa, Mainland and Surulere in Lagos State public schools. Two research questions and two corresponding null hypotheses were postulated and tested at 0.05 level of significance using analysis of variance (ANOVA) as the statistical tool. The findings revealed that: There is a significant influence of preretirement counseling on retirement stress. There is no significant relationship between satisfaction to life and retirement stress. Based on the findings, was concluded that preretirement counseling is an effective strategy to retirement stress in teachers. Recommendations were made on the basis of the findings.en_US
