Abstract
The study was designed to examine the nurse’s perception on the relationship of family background and teenage pregnancy! The population of the study were nurses from four government hospital in Ibadan Municipality; University of College Hospital, Ibadan Adeoyo, State Hospital. Yemetu, Adeoyo State Hospital, Ring Road and Jericho Nursing Home, Jericho, Ibadan. A total of 300 questionnaire were used to collect data. The data was analyzed by percentage and Chi -square to describe the demographic data and to test the acceptability and rejection of the hypothesis at significant of 0.05 level respectively. Results of finding reveal that parental indiscipline influence teenage pregnancy in Ibadan. Based on the findings, the following recommendations were made, government programme should promulgate an edict where girl s should not be made to engage in activities such as hawking, hotel waiters etc. Government should enforce sex and family life education in the school time-table,
