dc.description.abstract | Climate change exerts enormous impacts on natural resources both at the local and global scales. Its effects on water resources over the Sub-Saharan Africa includes sea-level rises, floods, droughts and water quality degradation. Communities in the rural areas are most disadvantaged through strains on means of livelihood and access to water, food and health facilities. The paper underscores the challenges of adapting to water stress from climate change and the implication on sustainability within the sociocultural context of the tropical rural environment. The findings suggest that indigenous culture and local perceptions are vital for sustainable crisis intervention. | en_US |
