Power System networks of fast growing economies like in Asia and Africa are at a greater risk of collapse due to thermal and stability limit violations caused by high rates of load growth. It is therefore necessary that schemes be developed that monitor transmission network performance and predict when new investments become due. In this paper Verhulst equation is employed to obtain a simple expression for the effects of increasing electrical load on Available Transfer Capability. The model can be used to regulate and control the amount of power that flows through the electrical transmission line, so as to maintain the thermal loading limit and stability limit of the line. It can also be used as part of an on-line monitoring system, which informs transmission network operators when injection of new investments has become critical.en_US
