Abstract
The Nigerian educational system has come a long way. From the traditional non-formal education to the colonial formal education and the the post-independence system. Education in Nigeria has gone through different forms of changes through frequent change in policies by governmental agencies. This paper traces the diverse changes and the challenges. Some suggestions were made.
