| dc.description.abstract | Geotechnics as an academic entity is yet unknown in Nigeria. It is an undesirable situation, which hinders the contributions of the Universities in the country to the development of civil engineering earthworks. This paper attempts to explain what Geotechnics means, being the synthesis of some relevant civil engineering and geological sciences. Some intellectual and practical" advantages of the synthesis are discussed, drawing specific examples from the developed countries. | en_US |
