dc.description.abstractThis study investigated counselling implication on causes of examination malpractice among University students. The sample comprised 72 P.G.D.E. Students who were administered self-concept scale and test instrument. The finding shows that students who cheat in examinations have lower self-concept than those who do not cheat in examinations. Again female students were found to cheat during examination more than male students. Counselling strategies to redress the negative effect of malpractice in Examination include mounting of remedial programmes for academically weak students, effective study habit and examination taking technique; mounting a war on Examination malpractice for teachers, parents, students and school administrators to reduce the attraction to engage in examination malpractice.en_US
