Abstract
Breast cancer is very common worldwide and in Nigeria. Many lives are lost to this condition, Nigeria recording about 26,000 lives annually. Treating it requires several professionals including medical laboratory scientists, oncologists, radiologists, radiation therapy technicians, medical physicists, nurses, pharmacists, and surgeons. Treatment modalities include radiation treatment, chemotherapy and immunotherapy. The best way to prevent it is by regular self-examination, mammograms, breast ultrasounds and testing tumour markers Multidisciplinary care improves outcomes and makes the service more patient-friendly NSIA-LUTH Cancer centre offers a very high standard of multidisciplinary care comparable to what obtains in developed countries.
