Abstract
The study analysed the application of information and communication technology (ICT) for achieving the objectives of Automobile Technology in Colleges of Education in Lagos State. Three research questions guided the study. Three null hypotheses formulated were tested at 0.05 level of significance. A survey research design was employed for the study. The population for the study comprised 58 lecturers from Automobile Technology Departments. There was no sampling because of the manageable size of the population. Structured questionnaire was developed and used to collect data. Cronbach alpha reliability method was adopted to determine the internal consistency of the questionnaire; a Cronbach alpha coefficient of 0.80 was obtained for the questionnaire. Mean was used to answer research questions while t-test was used to test null hypothesis. It was found that information and communication technology was not applied during instructional planning, instructional delivery and evaluation of Automobile Technology instruction. It was recommended that information and communication technology be applied for teaching Automobile Technology courses in Nigerian Colleges of Education. Workshops and seminars on application of ICT facilities for teaching should be organized for lecturers of Automobile Technology in colleges of education.
