Abstract
This paper addresses the issue of quality assurance and assessment in technical and vocational education for sustainable national development. The researcher presented three research questions and adopted survey design to elicit information from teachers/lecturers (population) as regards the study. A total of 267 respondents were used for the study representing the entire population. The mean was used in analyzing the research questions. The findings of the showed that quality assurance in technical and vocational education makes the' programme functional. Functional technical and vocational education is practical, effective and result oriented in improving students attitudes, knowledge and practical skills. It equally revealed that the course contents are enough to prepare and equip the students to be self-reliant, initiative and creative for job creation. Technical and vocational education programmes are monitored, and essessed through students and lecturers assessment, record of work and attitude to work.
