dc.description.abstractSince counsellors are trained to help other cope with their stressful life situations among other things, they themselves need to seek ways of coping with any form of stress that might arise in course of their interaction with their clients’ who may even act out their aggression and maladaptive behaviours on the counsellors. Attempt was made to define stress and the nature of stress certain aspects of the counsellors professional calling which are crucial to their effectiveness were closely examined and some strategies for coping with stress in the counselling relationship were also discussed.en_US
