Most modern designs require materials with combination of properties such as stiffness, high thermal stability, impact strength and wear resistance that cannot be met by conventional metal alloys, ceramics and polymeric materials. In this present work, epoxy composites was fabricated using talc and fiber glass as fillers with the former having particle sizes of approximately 75 μm and 106 μm. The composites were then exposed to post cure temperatures of 50oC to 150oC at intervals of 25oC. Tensile and hardness tests were then conducted on the composites using specimens of simple geometry. It was discovered that 80%E/10% FG/10% T composites with 75 μm and 106 μm particulate talc loading exposed to 100oC post cure temperature gave the best tensile strength of 122.5 MPa and 123 MPa, respectively. Exposure to 150oC post cure temperature leads to improved Young’s modulus except for 80% E/15% FG/5% T composite while the greatest hardness value of 22.5 HV occurred at 125oC curing temperature.en_US
