This paper examined remanding services in the Nigerian society as a way of curbing societal menace of juvenile delinquency. It presented a global overview of the concept of remanding and identified the anomaly in the juvenile justice administration in Nigeria and some other African countries where juveniles are remanded in adult's prisons, maintaining the imperativeness of more juvenile remand centres. Precursors to remanding, reformatory programmes and the societal impact of the remanding process are as well presented. The paper concluded by remarking that increase in the number of offending adults in the Nigerian society precipitates a corresponding increase in the number of juvenile delinquents who though must be remanded in the juvenile prisons but never in the adult prisons. As a way forward for remand home operation in Nigeria, the paper recommends among others that, asides building more juvenile reformatory centres, the existing ones should be properly funded, well-staffed and be provided with functional facilities and as well be effectively monitored. Most importantly, the government should run comprehensive remand homes, where the reformation, rehabilitation and reintegration needs of the inmates would be meten_US
