dc.description.abstractIt is bothersome to note that the rate at which cases of single parenthood, divorced, remarried and reconstituted families worries not only the relations concerned but the society at large . Hence, the study investigated the effectiveness of logotherapy on somatic exhaustion experienced by the married persons in Ibadan metropolis. Experimental research design with the use of Pre-test/Post-Test and control quasi design was applied. The participants were 84 married persons. Couple burnout measure was used by the researchers to gather data to test the two null hypotheses. The reliability coefficient was obtained using Cronbach’s co-efficient alpha (0.78). The data collected were carefully analysed and the hypotheses were tested with the use of mean, standard deviation and analysis of covariance statistics (ANCOVA) to assess the differences in the post-test scores of somatic exhaustion experienced by the participations in the due to the logotheraphy intervention. The results of the study revealed that the participants in the control group did not report any significant difference while the participant in logotherapy intervention reported significant differences in the post-test scores and there was no significant difference in the post test scores of male and female participants. The study recommends logotherapy as an effective therapy to reduce somatic exhaustions among married persons.en_US
