Abstract
Developing nations all over the world are saddled with the education which involves teaching and learning process of persons for sustainable skill acquisition. This paper highlights how entrepreneurship education is used for human capacity building towards sports development in Nigeria. This paper argues that entrepreneurship education in sports empowers graduates with the knowledge of various opportunities in the sports sector and how they are harnessed to achieve the sports development objectives. This paper discuss the role of entrepreneurship education in human capacity building. The concept of human capacity building, entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship education, impact of entrepreneurship education, process of skill acquisition through entrepreneurship education and training, entrepreneurship, and human capacity building in sports was discussed. Using entrepreneurship education, as a tool for human capacity building, the growth and development of the sports industry in Nigeria. The study concluded that it reduces the high rate of poverty, create employment opportunities and equip graduates with trainings and support that will enable them to establish a career in small and medium-sized sports businesses and the study recommended that the Ministry of education makes entrepreneurship education compulsory for all students in Nigeria and not just for those in the business disciplines.
