dc.description.abstractThe study investigated the relationship between principal's administrative attributes and teachers’ work behaviour in private secondary schools in Eti-Osa local government area, Lagos State. It specifically aimed at finding out the relationship between principals” instructional supervision, principals” interpersonal relationship, managerial decision, principals’ instructional leadership, principal's involvement of teachers in decision making and teachers’ work behaviour in private secondary schools in Eti-Osa local government area, Lagos State. Five research questions and hypotheses each guide the study. Descriptive survey design was adopted. The population of this study comprised all 1,427 teachers in private secondary schools in Eti-Osa local government area of Lagos State. The sample was selected using the multi-stage sampling approach. A self-constructed questionnaire titled Principals’ Administrative Attributes and Teachers’ Work Behaviour Questionnaire’ (PAATWBQ) was used to collect the data needed for the study. Data collected were used to test the stated hypotheses using Pearson Product Moment Correlation (r) statistics. The results showed that all the attributes considered had significant relationship with teachers’ work behaviour. Based on the findings of the study, it is recommended amongst others that: There is the need to build and improve leadership skills through appointment of good and effective school administrators to assure quality and effective teachers’ job performance.
