dc.description.abstract | The study took a critical look at the influence of effective administration on the functionality of Community -Based Learning Centres in some selected Local Government Areas in Lagos State. Thepopulation comprised all the tutorialand non-tutorial staff of96 Community-Based Learning Centres in Lagos State. A sample of sixty respondents was drawn 'using stratified and simple random sampling techniques. Two null hypotheses were formulated and tested at 0.05 alpha level, using the Pearson s Product Moment Correlation (r). Data were collected using a researcher-structured. questionnaire on effective administration and the functionality of Community-Based Learning Centres. The 'calculated t-value (3.77) was statistically greater than the critical t- value of2. 00for hypothesis one)'and the calculated t-value of 4.40 for the second hypothesis was statistically greater than the t-value of2. 00; thus the two hypotheses were rejected. This implies that lack of effective planning & organisation, supervision. and coordination affect the functionality of the Community-Based Centres in Yaba, Mainland, and Shomolu Local Government Areas of Lagos State. Consequently, it was recommended that more efforts should be made by the Government at local and state levels 71 o e Ire ei'ecti .e administration of the Community-Based Learning Centres. The programmes and activities should be 'annul, organised, coordinated, and supervised to ensure ereater relevance, effectiveness and efficiency. | en_US |
