This study investigated impact of intimate partner violence on psychosocial adjustment of married women in Lagos state. Descriptive research design was adopted in the study. The study sample comprised three hundred participants drawn from the study population by simple random sampling method. A self-designed questionnaire titled Impact of Intimate Partner Violence on Psychosocial Adjustment Questionnaire (IIPVPQ) which was validated and its reliability established in a pilot study (r=0.82), was used in data collection. The formulated hypotheses were tested using chi square statistical tool at 0.05 level of significance. Findings revealed that there was a significant impact of intimate partner violence on emotional expression, self esteem and social isolation of married women in Mainland Local Government Area of Lagos State. The study hence recommended that gender equity should be promoted by all relevant agencies in the country. The fight against early and forced marriage should be strengthened. Also, a department should be established in police stations that investigates and handles issues related to gender-based violence with male and female police officers in attendance.en_US
