Abstract
The paper provides a conceptual overview of the cataloguer's workstation. It also makes an attempt to construct a rationale for its development as well as placing its potential value in the larger framework of cataloguing. It also draws a number of aspects in the history and development of library technical services. The significance of Technical Services Workstation (TSW) in both the effective retrieval of information and in cataloguing is discussed. A well defined future in the development and management of Technical Services Workstation is recommended.
