Abstract
HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE OF DISEASES (HPD) According to Bailliere’s Nurses Dictionary (2005), a disease is a definite pathological process having a characteristic set of signs and symptoms”. It may affect the whole body or any part and its axiology, pathology and prognosis may be known or unknown. Control can be seen as a way to restrain something or to check while prevention is to keep it from happening. In a nutshell, disease control and prevention may be termed “a way of restraining pathological process and keeping it (disease) from happening, prevention they say is better than cure.
