Abstract
The paper reviews the traditional and expected role of the woman in national development. It establishes the fact that despite the innate abilities of the Nigerian woman, some has been oppressed, ill-used and marginalized from contributing effectively to the development of the nation. The works sees accessibility to adequate information by the womenfolk as the solution to tapping the invaluable resources inherent in the Nigerian woman. Finally, the paper is a librarian's effort atexamining the ways of harnessing the information resources for the Nigerian womenfolk and disseminating them through the services of an institutionalized information centre for Women Affairs in Nigeria. The responsibilities of the Information Centre are further highlighted.
