Integration of Trouble-Shooting into Woodwork Technology Education Curriculum in Technical Institutions in Oyo and Lagos States

Abstract
The major purpose of the study was to determine the integration of trouble-shooting objectives and learning experiences into curriculum of woodwork technology education program in technical institutions in Lagos and Oyo States. The study employed descriptive survey research design. Two research questions and two hypotheses, tested at O. 05% level of significance, guided the study. The respondents for the study consisted of 25 woodwork lecturers and 35 craftsmen making a total population of 70. Mean, standard deviation was employed to answer the research questions; t-test was used to test the null hypotheses. Structured questionnaires was designed and used for data collection. The instrument was subjected to face validation by two lecturers from university of Lagos and workshop manager of furniture construction company in Oyo state. the reliability coefficient for the study was 0.89 using cronbach alpha reliability tests. It was found that the ten objectives and sixteen learning experience in (design, modelling, maintenance, drawing, theory and construction), trouble shooting should be integrated into woodwork technology curriculum and necessary objectives and learning experience that are required to teach trouble shooting were identified.
