Abstract
This study focused on the perceived influence of planning and implementation techniques on performances of professional and amateur football clubs. The sample used for the study was two hundred (200) subject selected from six (6) football clubs in Lagos State. The stratified sampling technique was used in selecting subjects. four null hypotheses were formulated and tested in the study. The research instrument used to generate data was the planning implementation technique on performance questionnaires(PITOPQ) which was in the modified four point Rennis Likert attitudinal rating scale Questionnaire type. The research method used was the descriptive statistics of chi-square to determine the influence of planning and implementation techniques on performance of professional and amateur football clubs. The four hypotheses were significant. The findings revealed that management by objective process influence performance of professional and amateur football clubs and strategic implementation of training programme influence quality of play in the football clubs. It is recommended that programmes must be planned and budgeted for to ensure cost effectiveness and profit making.
