Abstract
The Inaugural Lecture is an opportunity for newly-promoted or appointed Professors to inform colleagues in the University and the general public, about his/her research career so far. It is a recognised celebratory occasion where staff and students of the university are invited. So this first, formal speech by the new Professor is primarily intended to give the audience a glimpse of what he or she might achieve in future as a continuum of what they have done till date. Therefore every professor should present an inaugural lecture because of their respect for this academic tradition; for the sake of intellectual history (for "unless the younger generation understands the point their predecessors have reached they will not know the significance of their own contributions"), for the sake of one's teachers, students, and associates; and finally to inform general public of one's research undertakings till date. For these I am here today.
